Emy has started to ask to nurse - she's our first child that's on target verbally so this is a bit odd! She'll say, "Nuh, eeethe, nuh, eeeth..." I've got to get it on tape. "Nurse, please!" It was so cute at 3am when she said it that I woke Kit up to hear! (He thought it was cute despite the rude awakening.) And I'll ask if she wants to nurse and she'll nod frantically. She also pulls up HER shirt when she wants to nurse and shows me her belly, chanting, "Nuuuh, nuuuh!"

The picture of Bennett is the first day he wasn't on the ventilator/CPAP - he was 3 months old (but still not due for another month) and still on a lot of oxygen and nursing was our last big hurdle to face before getting him home.

I've now spent just over 49 months of my life nursing and/or pumping. Four years of lactating. :D I guess that makes me a lactivist. No wonder Christopher calls breasts "nurses."

I love the leg-up nursing method. Phill (my husband) tends to love when my kids nurse held against me vertically. It looks hilarious, but is quite convenient when I'm walking around. Yay for breastfeeding! :) And I love that you're so supportive of it. It always helps when the husband is supportive of the various motherly arts....
