Bennett's Glasses

Bennett is in glasses due to vision issues related to ROP from his early arrival at 23 weeks gestation. He was born so early that his eyes were still fused shut. He had laser surgery in the NICU for ROP at 2.5 months old and needed glasses very early on but his doctor advised we wait until he was more upright (not crawling) and needed to see farther. He began wearing glasses the same month he took his first steps at 11 months adjusted/15 months actual age. He HATED them and has broken over 30 pairs of frames and chewed (literally) on his lenses. It was not for another 6 months before he would wear them consistently. At 3 years old he now loves his glasses and sunglasses (he has light sensitivity) and only breaks them on accident. :)
