Thaden-Pierce Plan by Ages

This is, by ages – preschool, primary (4 to 11) and youth (12 to 18) roughly – the skills we feel are important for the children to develop. Our goal is to ensure that before they leave home, they are capable of handling a variety of situations to help them be independent adults. :) We’ll see how this goes…

This was inspired by the book Parenting Breakthrough which is absolutely worth buying!

Also, a layout of about how much a child needs to put into savings year by year to have (almost) enough for their mission based on the $400/month current price. We’ll hope it doesn’t go up too much in the next decade.

age 8 $50
age 9 $75
age 10 $100
age 11 $125
age 12 $200
age 13 $400
age 14 $600
age 15 $800
age 16 $1000
age 17 $2000
age 18 $2400

Total is $7750 which would cover most (but not all, I’m guessing) of the mission for a girl but for a boy it would probably be:

age 15 $1000
age 16 $1500
age 17 $2500
age 18 $4000
