I just saw this last night myself and loved it. We’ve been doing dictation for two months now and I’ve been amazed at the changes I’ve seen in Autumn’s writing and general schoolwork. I’m excited to add in a couple of things that Pioneer Woman does with it as well. I hadn’t thought to let her look over the passage first and write down difficult words a few times, and just get a feel for the passage and the different punctuation and I really like that. I kind of thought before that that would be cheating…for some reason. But I was always a little frustrated with how when they’re first learning to do dictation, and some of the interesting punctuation we see in writing anyway (like colons vs semi-colons), it was hard to “say” that I was reading. Pauses for commas were easy and quotation marks were easy. But I really like how looking it over will help her. I love Pioneer Woman.
