New Toys from Caseworker

B’s package(s) arrived over the last week from his vision caseworker with the state and safe to say, they’re all hits! While the guidelines are they cannot purchase anything “educational” (because in theory the school is suppose to be buying those supplies for us – you know, if they would be willing to work with homeschoolers!) but since B’s so young we agreed that everything is educational for him. Wink, wink. 😉

Crayola Dry Erase board, it has four markers & an eraser (low fume!) and various sheets that go underneath (and are stored) the clear board. They write directly on the board, which I really love. Also the backyard safari giant magnifier, which floats (fun for in lake) and is fantastic for all ages. It is a plastic screen so little ones can’t be too rough with it but overall pretty durable thus far:

I think the dry erase board would be great as a traveling desk, too, and because it’s low fume it’s nice for car rides. (Some of our other dry erase markers are so stinky.) Reviews did say you must use only Crayola dry erase markers (others seemed to stain it) but a big selling point for me is that you can insert regular size paper in there, so I can have him do his math worksheets in there. I love that idea…

She also sent some dark lined paper, special dark markers, a slanted board for easier reading/writing, extra dry erase markers, a large font size timer, and a few other things. We’re feeling so very thankful, the kids are all enjoying the stuff but it’s really helpful for B.
